SWIFT, a global provider of financial messaging services, has appointed David Lefferts as Managing Director, Market Initiative for the Americas, following more than two decades of experience in the industry, according to a SWIFT statement.
In his new role as the managing director, marketing initiatives – Americas, Mr. Lefferts will be reporting to Chris Church, SWIFT’s Chief Executive, Americas and Global Head of Securities. He will be tasked with overseeing SWIFT’s product suite and services given regulatory changes currently unfolding in the financial services industry.
He joins SWIFT from Markit, having served as a member of its executive team in a number of roles over the past eight years. Prior to Markit, Mr. Lefferts worked as the Vice President for Fixed Income Strategy at FINRA.
According to Mr. Church in a recent statement on the appointment, “David will be a tremendous asset to our team, bringing a deep understanding of our customers and our community. I look forward to working closely with David as we define and execute our overall go-to-market strategy for the Americas region.”
