Mohamed Halim, a veteran in the financial services space, has left his position at foreign exchange (forex) broker ATFX, and joined Tera Financial (TeraFX) as the Regional Head of Business Development for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Halim confirmed to Finance Magnates that he started his new position on 1st September 2020. He is working for Tera Europe Limited - DIFC, a DIFC branch of Tera Europe Limited (UK), that is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Tera Europe Limited - DIFC Branch is authorised by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to serve institutional and professional clients under its Category 4 licence. The company’s branch is located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Mohamed Halim to Drive TeraFX Expansion in the Middle East
As the Regional Head of Business Development - MENA, Halim will be responsible for managing business development for the company’s operations in the region. Additionally, he will lead the expansion of Tera FX into the Middle East.
Speaking to Finance Magnates on his new role, Halim said: "My reasons to join Tera Europe Limited - DIFC, is my full trust in the company's expansion plan in the MENA region under our new DFSA license in which we are excited to introduce our financial services to professional investors under its umbrella, I am happy to be a part of this stage as a regional head of business development for the MENA region."
Halim has joined Tera FX from ATFX, where he was the Institutional Business Development Manager. During his time with the FX broker, he was based in Dubai.
Prior to working for ATFX, Halim was a Sales Manager in the MENA region for GKFX for a period of just under three years. Based in Dubai, he left the FX and contracts for difference (CFD) trading provider at the beginning of 2018, his LinkedIn profile shows.
Earlier on, Halim was an Account Executive at Swissquote, for about a year. During his career, which spans across more than a decade, he has worked at HYCM, Noor Capital Markets and more.
