Thomson Reuters Adds Shawn Malhotra as its VP, Toronto Technology Centre

Thomson Reuters (NYSE:TRI) has on-boarded Shawn Malhotra as its newest Vice President for the group’s Toronto Technology Centre, who joins one of the company’s largest growth segments in Canada, according to a Thomson Reuters statement.

Thomson Reuters’ Technology Centre is expected to secure upwards of 400 technology jobs in Canada over the next two years, with eventual plans to grow to approximately 1,500 jobs. The hire of Mr. Malhotra helps establish veteran leadership at the group, who will be responsible for fostering the centre’s focus on emerging skills, computing, visualization, user experience, and Cloud development.

Mr. Malhotra joins Thomson Reuters from Intel, having worked previously as a Director, Software Engineering and Site Director for the group’s own Technology Centre in Toronto, according to information made public on his Linkedin profile.
