Maria João accepted the offer, pending all regulatory approvals by the relevant authorities.

Credit Suisse Group AG made a new senior level appointment on Wednesday, promoting Burkhard Varnholt as its newest Chief Investment Officer (CIO), who will succeed Anja Hochberg. Mr. Varnholt will serve as the CIO of its Credit Suisse’s Swiss unit and his appointment will begin only on January 1, 2017. He will be assuming the mantle of responsibility for its investment capabilities across the International Wealth Division.

Calypso Technology Inc. announced its newest senior hire last week, adding Olivier Vinciguerra as its Managing Director of Sales in Northern Europe. The hire comes during the same week in which Calypso announced its plans to begin an aggressive recruitment round after booking 20 new clients in 2016.

Kevin Lam, Citigroup

Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) made a new senior appointment in its Asia-Pacific (APAC) unit, tapping Kevin Lam as its newest Business Development Head in the region. In his new role Mr. Lam will be reporting to the lenders’ Head of Corporate and Investment banking – APAC, Mark Slaughter, as well as Bassam Salem, Citigroup’s Private Bank CEO – APAC.

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) today announced that its Non-Executive Director and former New Zealand Reserve Bank governor, Ian Macfarlane, will retire at the conclusion of the 2016 Annual General Meeting, ending a ten-year tenure with the ANZ. Mr. Macfarlane was made a director back in 2007 following his retirement from the RBA governorship after a 10-year stint.

Swissquote’s Adrian Bult, a member of the board of directors, decided to step down from his position after eight years. Mr. Bult will however remain on the board of directors for an additional six months but will not seek re-election at the next annual General Meeting on May 12, 2017.
