Daniel Maguire, LCH
LCH last week promoted Daniel Maguire as its newest Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Maguire presently serves as LCH’s Global Head of Rates & FX Derivatives – he will be retaining his role in addition to the new responsibilities garnered from his COO appointment. As LCH’s COO, Mr. Maguire will be responsible for helping drive the group’s growth, whilst maintaining customer relationship innovation initiatives.
Simon Gilbert, Liquidnet
Liquidnet brought in Simon Gilbert as its newest Sales Director, who joins the group’s London office, according to a company statement. Mr. Gilbert will be tasked with assisting the group’s European Members source institutional Liquidity in US equities. In this capacity, Mr. Gilbert will be reporting to Tony Booth, Head of Sales at Liquidnet.

Christopher Woida, Axioma
Axioma tapped of Christopher Woida as its newest Managing Director, Index Solutions. The appointment represents the group’s latest on-boarding of veteran talent, with Mr. Woida previously serving an integral role at BlackRock. Axioma’s index business is responsible for leveraging and managing the main group’s portfolio-construction expertise and solutions.

Charles Thornton, CFTC
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) appointed N. Charles “Charlie” Thornton III to fill the position of the agency’s Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs. Mr. Thornton joins the CFTC’s legislative office after having served as senior counsel to the Senate Agriculture Committee for nearly three years.
Shelton Shugar, Barclaycard
Barclaycard US, the Payments arm of Barclays operating in the US, secured the services of Shelton Shugar as its newest Chief Information Officer (CIO) with immediate effect. In his new role as the CIO of Barclaycard US, Mr. Shugar will be responsible for playing a key role in the management and development of the group’s technological capabilities in the US. In this capacity he will be reporting to Roy Aston, Barclaycard’s CIO in the UK.

Marjan Delatinne, Ripple
Ripple strengthened its executive team last week, poaching Marjan Delatinne from SWIFT’s freshly launched Global Payments Innovation (GPI) program. The hire represents a power play by Ripple, helping kindle a new rivalry with the two groups. Ms. Delatinne had been a mainstay at SWIFT for over a decade, having worked in the group’s GPI Program.

Lori Arndt, Christopher McCarthy, and Ronnie Shah, Deutsche Bank
Deutsche Bank’s Global Markets Americas unit has made a string of new hires, bringing in three new individuals as part of its investment to the group. Lori Arndt, Christopher McCarthy, and Ronnie Shah have all joined the group’s New York branch.
