The Head of Corporate Development at EBS BrokerTec, Justyn Trenner, was reported to be leaving the company to venture into a new financial markets project. The news comes as the COO of ICAP Ken Pigaga has decided to step down after the announcement of the merger between the voice broking units of ICAP and Tullett Prebon.
Ken Pigaga, ICAP
Inter-dealer broker, ICAP last week announced that its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ken Pigaga will not be remaining with the firm after the merger with Tullett Prebon is completed. The company is expected to shortly announce a new person to head operations at the conclusion of the mega-deal. According to the estimates made by the company, the merger agreement is still expected to conclude before the end of 2016.

Megan McCracken, Marex Spectron
Marex Spectron added a senior appointment to its team, on-boarding Megan McCracken as its Head of Strategy, who joined the group from HSBC holdings. In her new role Ms. McCracken will be tasked with supporting the development of new and existing growth initiatives across the group’s business – she steps into the new position with immediate effect and will be based out of London.
Ruben Costa-Santos and Andre Nogueira, ITG
ITG (NYSE:ITG) last Tuesday named two new hires to its foreign exchange (FX) unit and analytics team, securing Ruben Costa-Santos as its Director and Head of FX and Andre Nogueira as a Director of the Analytics Team. Per the appointments, Mr. Costa-Santos will help oversee ITG’s FX activity across such groups as analytics, execution and workflow technology. Alternatively, Andre Nogueira will be tasked with spearheading ITG’s analytics consulting efforts in Europe.
Warwick Palmer, Credit Suisse
Warwick Palmer, whose previous experience includes senior roles at Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank, joined Credit Suisse in the capacity of Managing Director, Global Head of FX Spot and Forwards Trading. Back in March, Credit Suisse announced the restructuring of its Global Markets division. As part of that process, foreign exchange has been moved out of the Investment bank and into the Sales & Trading Services (STS) International business which is part of the Swiss Universal Bank (SUB) and International Wealth Management (IWM) divisions.

Jane Norberg, SEC
Jane Norberg, the acting Chief of the SEC’s Office of the Whistleblower, was promoted last week to the head the department which intakes and reviews whistleblower tips received by the agency. Earlier in July, the first chief of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s whistleblower office, Sean McKessy, announced that he is stepping down. In her new role, Ms. Norberg will be tasked with evaluating whistleblower award claims, assessment of award claims, and making recommendations to the SEC on whether claimants are eligible to receive an award.

Michael Foley, Equiniti
Equiniti Group plc, a provider of financial and technology solutions, appointed Michael Foley, the group’s current Chief Strategist, to head its Blockchain/Distributed Ledger Technology Research and Development (R&D). In this capacity Mr. Foley will be focusing on several agendas for the group, including the transformative nature of Blockchain for Equiniti as well as the opportunities it may bring Equiniti and its clients in terms of cost and speed, security and traceability.
Hester Serafini, ICE Clear US
Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE) reported a change in its leadership at ICE Clear, which will be following the retirement of Thomas Hammond, the acting President of ICE Clear US. In his stead, ICE Clear will soldier forth under the leadership of Hester Serafini, currently the group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Ms. Serafini is slated to step into the role of President following Mr. Hammond’s departure in January, which will see him take on a number of new responsibilities advising on global strategic clearing initiatives.

Benjamin Phillips, NZX
NZX Limited has made a new senior appointment to its Markets team, elevating Benjamin Phillips to the role of Head of Market Operations, following a period of two years with the exchange operator. Mr. Phillips originally joined NZX back in September 2014, having served as its Head of Clearing for the duration of his tenure with group. In this capacity, he has maintained a central role in securing operations of several infrastructures that form NZX Clearing’s designated settlement system, NZCDC. He has also worked extensively with NZX’s stakeholder management of external regulators and the NZCDC Board.
Michael Bitton, Citi
Michael Bitton, the global head of delta one and head of North American prime finance at Citigroup parted ways last week with the firm. Bitton who joined Citi from UniCredit as a senior director in equity finance and Delta One trading in 2012 departed Citi in June. The bank is reported to have been looking to strengthen its equities franchise by sourcing talent from other banks and building up its prime brokerage and bespoke equity derivatives businesses to cater more to hedge fund clients.
