Trading Technologies International, Inc. (TT), a provider of capital markets technology solutions, has announced the appointment of three industry veterans to pivotal roles on its leadership team. Effective January 1, 2024, Justin Llewellyn-Jones will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), Christopher Heffernan will assume the position of EVP Fixed Income, and Alun Green will become EVP Futures & Options.

The Leadership Team and Business Line Experts Aligned

Llewellyn-Jones, as the COO, will spearhead the firm's market-facing business to propel multi-asset growth in collaboration with business line leaders. Heffernan will drive the expansion of TT's global fixed-income business, while Green will focus on the growth of the company's core futures and options franchise. Llewellyn-Jones and Heffernan will be based in New York, with Green operating from London.

Llewellyn-Jones boasts nearly three decades of experience in fintech and financial services across prominent global hubs, including London and New York. His most recent role was at Broadridge, where he served as Chief Product Officer from early 2022 and previously held the position of Head of Capital Markets, North America (Equities, FX & Derivatives) for over four years.

During his tenure at ION, he was the Global Head of Derivatives, contributing over 14 years of expertise. Prior to ION's acquisition of Fidessa, Llewellyn-Jones held key roles at Fidessa, including as the Global Head of Derivatives for more than six years and the COO of Americas for more than eight years.

His journey at Fidessa began in 2005 when he joined as the Senior Vice President, overseeing service delivery for the U.S. hosted services business. In 2008, he was appointed as the Managing Director of that business.

Llewellyn-Jones also has a professional history with various roles at NatWest and ADP. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Manchester and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Cardiff University.

Heffernan brings experience spanning over two decades in fixed income, with expertise in sales and trading, business development, and leadership. His career highlights include roles in building two fixed-income trading businesses over the last decade, focusing on electronic and algorithmic trading, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and portfolio trading.

He has cultivated relationships with a diverse global client base, including asset managers, hedge funds, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, private banks, and broker-dealers. In his most recent role, Heffernan served as the Head of Fixed Income Sales at Flow Traders since 2019, leading a team responsible for new business, client distribution, and relationship management.

Before this, he played a role as one of the original founding employees at SumRidge Partners in 2011, where he served until 2018 as the Director of Institutional Sales. His contributions played a role in the firm's acquisition of global financial services firm Raymond James last year. Heffernan initiated his career at Morgan Stanley in 2001 where he worked for over eight years on both the sales and trading desks. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in finance from Villanova University.

With 24 years of experience in financial markets and technology, Green has emerged as a seasoned professional in the industry. Over the past eight years, he has been active in London, serving as the Managing Director of Derivatives Utility at Fidelity Information Services (FIS), a role he assumed following FIS's acquisition of SunGard in 2015.

Green's contributions have extended to multiple leadership roles at FIS, including as Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy of Post-Trade Derivatives and Securities. His journey at SunGard began over seven years prior, starting as the Senior Vice President and ultimately reaching the position of Executive Vice President and Deputy Head of Derivatives Utility, just before the FIS acquisition.

Before his tenure at FIS and SunGard, Green took on different roles at Calyon Financial (formerly Carr Futures before its 2004 acquisition by Credit Agricole) from 1999 to 2007. His expertise is underpinned by an academic foundation, boasting two Master of Science degrees in mathematics from both the University of Oxford and Queen Mary University of London.
