Velox Clearing Recruits Brokerage Veteran Michael Higgins as CEO
Velox Clearing (Velox), a California-based clearing firm, prime broker, and RIA custodian, has onboarded Michael Higgins to head its prime brokerage business. Prior to Velox, Higgins enjoyed a seven-year tenure at LPL Financial, a major player in the US retail financial advice market and one of the nation’s largest independent broker-dealers.

Conflux Hires Eden Dhaliwal as Global Managing Director
Conflux, the Chinese Blockchain startup, has hired Eden Dhaliwal, the former crypto head of venture fund Outlier Ventures, as its new global managing director.
Dhaliwal will help set up Conflux’s Toronto office, scheduled to open in the next two weeks will lead the Beijing-based firm’s efforts to expand its business in North America.

ACY Securities Adds New Chief Market Analyst
ACY Securities has appointed Alistair Schultz as their new Chief Market Analyst, who joins the group with immediate effect.
Schultz, who started his career on the trading floors of New York, has more than 15 years’ experience in the FX and CFD markets and has worked with both retail and institutional clients

Equiti Capital Names David Meek as Non-Exec Chairman
Pending FCA approval, David Meek will join Equiti Capital, a provider of forex and contracts for difference (CFD) Liquidity . Meek’s career has been largely in the banking sector, having worked at numerous tier 1 banks, such as JP Morgan and Citigroup, where he collectively spent 18 years.

Tendermint Labs Director Zaki Manian Resigns
Zaki Manian, director of Tendermint Labs, has stepped down from his position, having headed the development of Cosmos blockchain.
Manian’s resignation from the project was fueled by an ongoing very public battle between him and Jae Kwon, the founder and CEO of the blockchain startup.

UBS Group Names Ralph Hamers as New CEO
Hamers, who is the current CEO of ING Group, will join the Switzerland-headquartered bank as a member of the Group Executive Board on September 1, 2020.
Hamers first joined ING Group back in 1991. Over the past 29 years, he has held a number of roles within before becoming the CEO in 2013.
