Victor Zachariades has stepped down from his role as Head of Pepperstone’s Cyprus unit to join Alpaca as the General Manager of Cyprus. He took over the new role earlier this month, according to his Linkedin profile.
Founded in 2015, Alpaca is a stock and crypto platform focusing on building application program interfaces (APIs). The company is headquartered in California and is backed by Y Combinator, Horizon Ventures, Spark Capital and a few other venture capital firms.
An Experienced Financial Industry Expert
Zachariades has more than 15 years of experience working in the financial industry and has been a part of many top brands.
He joined Pepperstone in August 2019 as a Director to head the broker’s Cypriot operations. He helped the Aussie broker to build its presence in Cyprus after Brexit to continue operating in the European Economic Area.
Prior to Pepperstone, he was an Executive Director at Forex Club for three years. There he managed the day-to-day activities of the Cypriot office of the financial services group company.
Zachariades started his career in September 2007 with Athens-based Hellenic Bank where he was a Risk Management Analyst. After a year, he moved to TFI Markets as a financial instruments dealer. Additionally, he spent three years as a Senior Dealer with FxPro, another big name in the forex and contracts for difference (CFDs) industry.
In between his time at Forex Club and FxPro, he spent more than a couple of years at Vinson Financials, another Cypriot financial service firm. He managed everyday operations there as a Senior Manager.
