Vivian Zhou Joins Mastercard as Corporate Treasurer

New York-based financial services provider, Mastercard announced the appointment of Vivian Zhou, the former Director of Transaction Services at KPMG US, as the company’s Corporate Treasurer, yesterday. The appointment of Zhou will be effective from 15 August 2022.

The details shared by Mastercard show that Zhou will succeed Alfred Kibe. Mastercard noted that Kibe will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the company’s North American region. Kibe has been associated with Mastercard for more than six years.

Zhou joins Mastercard from American Express where she spent over 16 years in different senior-level positions. She held a broad range of roles at American Express, including Head of Global Capital Markets, Head of Balance Sheet Strategy & Planning and Senior Vice President.

"Vivian brings deep experience that is well-suited to supporting the execution of Mastercard's strategy," said Sachin Mehra, Mastercard's Chief Financial Officer. "We look forward to having her join the team and leveraging her experiences to drive our continued growth globally."

In June 2022, Mastercard strengthened its team in the MENA East with the appointment of JK Khalil as Cluster General Manager.

Experienced Executive

Zhou has almost two decades of experience in the corporate sector. In addition to her 16 years at American Express, Mastercard’s newly appointed Corporate Treasurer spent nearly three years at KPMG US as Director of Transaction Services.

“Zhou earned her MBA in finance and entrepreneurial management at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business in Pennsylvania. She graduated from Binghamton University,” Mastercard added in the announcement.
