XTX Markets announced on Thursday that it has appointed Charlie Whitlock, the former Managing Director and Head of AES Sales for the Americas at Credit Suisse, as its Head of Americas Distribution. Whitlock brings 25 years of financial markets experience to the role.

Torstone Technology Appoints Sam Farrell as Head of North America to Expand US and Canadian Operations

Torstone Technology, a major SaaS platform for securities and derivatives processing in the post-trade phase, has hired Sam Farrell as the Head of North America. With his base of operations in Toronto, Farrell will supervise all US and Canadian operations for Torstone, enhancing the company's presence in North America and solidifying its position as a leading provider in both the US and Canadian markets.

Thomas Friesleben Becomes Managing Director of StoneX Pro EMEA

StoneX Group has appointed Thomas Friesleben as the Managing Director to lead the growth of its StoneX Pro division in EMEA. He is based in Germany and will report to the Group's Global Head of Institutional FX, Eric Donovan.

Robinhood's Chief Operating Officer to Retire

Gretchen Howard, who became Robinhood Markets' Chief Operating Officer in 2019, has decided to retire from the company at the end of 2023. She will step down as the COO at the end of March and will assume an advisory role until her retirement.

Bloomberg Promotes Sophia Barnes

Bloomberg has promoted Sophia Barnes to Global Marketing Manager from APAC Marketing Manager, a role she took over in October 2020. Prior to Bloomberg, she spent eight years at Multibank Group, a prominent FX/CFDs broker, where she joined as a Senior Project Manager and was later promoted to Director of Public Relations and Marketing.

Exness Names New Chief Administrative Officer

Cyprus-headquartered FX/CFDs broker Exness has named Elena Krutova as its Chief Administrative Officer. Previously, she was the Chief People Officer at the broker and spent the last five years there. In the new role, she will oversee people, finance, legal & compliance, and corporate operations of the broker.

Scope Markets Eyes MENA, Hires Equiti’s VP as Sales Manager for Region

Scope Markets has recruited Yaser Zidan as its Sales Manager for the Middle East and North Africa. This news comes three months after the broker was evaluating opportunities for further expansion into MENA and Asia.

Zidan announced his new appointment at Scope Markets on Tuesday in an update to his profile on LinkedIn. The executive left for Scope Markets after about seven years at Equiti which he joined in August 2016 as a Senior Account Manager. Zidan doubled as the Vice President of Sales at Equiti in Jordan starting May 2018 until his departure.

Binance's VP Joins New Zealand's FMA as Executive Director

On Monday, the Financial Markets Authority in New Zealand announced that Daniel Trinder was selected as the Executive Director of Strategy and Design, and will join the enterprise leadership team.

Trinder brings more than two decades of professional experience, which he has built up at HM Treasury and the International Monetary Fund, among others, as well as at major investment banks, including Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered.
