XTX Markets Strengthens Leadership with Dr. Hans Buehler as Deputy CEO

London-based XTX Markets, which operates as a multi-asset market maker, announced on Friday the hiring of Dr Hans Buehler and his appointment as the company’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment came as XTX’s Co-CEO, Zar Amrolia plans to retire from all of his executive duties in early 2023. The company is optimistic that Dr Buehler will strengthen its senior leadership.

“We are delighted to welcome Hans to XTX Markets. He is a strong cultural fit and will bring a wealth of experience to the firm,” said Amrolia.

An Industry Veteran

Dr Buehler, a Ph.D. holder in Financial Mathematics, is bringing more than two decades of financial industry experience to his new role. He is joining XTX from JPMorgan Chase, where he spent the last 14 years of his career. He held several executive roles there and parted with the banking giant as the Global Head of Equities Data Analytics, Automation & Optimisation and also of Equities, Sales, Securities Services QR.

Prior to that, he worked at Deutsche Bank for seven years. Based in London, he was the German bank’s Global Head of Equity Derivatives Quantitative Research.

“I am looking forward to working closely with Hans as XTX enters its next phase of growth,” said Alex Gerko, the Founder and Co-CEO of XTX Markets.

XTX is known for providing electronic spot FX liquidity, along with seminar services for equities and other asset classes. According to the company, it is the largest liquidity provider of Spot FX and European equities. The company is now focused on building out its client franchises.

Furthermore, XTX Markets doubled its revenue in 2020, generating £651.9 million, Finance Magnates earlier reported. The company netted £149.9 million in profits with a margin of 23 percent.
