Zealand's stock exchange, has appointed Anna Scott as the new Chief Executive of Smartshares Limited.
Scott, who
was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Hobson Wealth, a private wealth
advisory group based in Auckland, brings strong operational skills to her new
role. NZX believes that Scott's expertise will be instrumental in driving
growth for Smartshares3.
GTC Names New Chief Analyst
Dubai-based Global Trade Capital (GTC) has onboarded Jameel Ahmad as the Chief Analyst and also the Advisor to the CEO. The company is regulated by Vanuatu Financial Services Commission and offers trading services.
Ahmad previously worked for several other top forex and contracts for differences (CFDs) brands. Most recently, he was Alpari’s Chief Investment Strategist for MENA, which is a role he held for only five months. He was also a Director of Investment Strategy at NAGA for ten months. Prior to that, he spent six years at ForexTime, parting as its Global Head of Currency Strategy & Market Research.
OANDA Taps Rafał Słoń as Managing Director for Australia
OANDA, a longtime
player in the multi-asset retail trading industry, has elevated Rafał Słoń, its
Head of Business Operations, to Managing Director for Australia. The task to lead the brokerage’s business in the country comes about three years after
Słoń joined the company as Business Operations Lead.
Słoń,
who brings over six years of forex trading industry experience to the role, has
been serving the company as Head of Business Operations since November 2021. He
was previously the Business Operations Manager for the Americas and Europe, the Middle
East and Africa.

Leadership Transition at
Deutsche Bank
Karl von
Rohr, the President of Deutsche Bank, will relinquish his responsibilities to his
successors on 1 July, after the robust transition preparations by the Management
Board. Claudio de Sanctis will take over the Private Bank and join the
Management Board, while Alexander von zur Mühlen and James von Moltke will
assume new responsibilities in different regions and Asset Management,
respectively.
A separate process will determine von Rohr's successor as the Chairman of the DWS Supervisory Board. The option of an earlier handover was already anticipated in the Supervisory Board's decision on Management Board personnel dated April 26. The decision creates clear responsibilities at an early stage.
AvaTrade Onboards New Head of Sales and Retention
AvaTrade, an Ireland-headquartered FX/CFDs broker, has strengthened its team with the latest hiring of Gabriel Michaeli as the Head of Sales and Retention. According to his LinkedIn, he is located in Israel.
Michaeli is an industry expert and has previously worked with multiple other brokerage brands. Before joining AvaTrade, he was a Business Development Manager at markets.com, a role he held for five months. Earlier, he worked as a Regional Manager at eToro. Other companies where he worked are Firstlane Securities, Lead Capital Markets, and Trade FXL.
Republic Crypto Gets New Head of Growth and Ecosystem
Heslin Kim has joined Republic Crypto, a Web3 accelerator, as the Head of Growth and Ecosystem. The company advises on token economics, structuring deals, smart contract development, marketing, fundraising, running infrastructure, and venture work, among others.
In the new role, his primary focus is to drive new business streams, particularly around Republic Runtime’s infrastructure.
Kim joined Republic Crypto from SupraOracles, where he spent more than four years and parted as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). On top of that, he was the Director of Business Development at Euronext. What's more, he was involved with several other blockchain firms, including Tokeny Solutions, Polymath, and Digital Strategies.
“Joining Republic Crypto feels like a natural progression, given my previous experience in the digital assets/securities sector since 2017,” Kim wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Torstone Technology Announces New CFO Name
Torstone Technology, a SaaS platform provider for post-trade securities and derivatives processing and risk management, has onboarded Neil Mardon as the new Chief Financial Officer, who will also hold a seat on the company’s board.
Mardon is a trained Chartered Accountant and brings extensive industry experience to his new role. Most recently, he worked at Daiwa Capital Markets Europe, first as the CFO, and then as its COO.
“Torstone is renowned for its innovative cloud-based post-trade solutions, and I am committed to supporting the team in their mission to be the industry-leading post-trade platform,” Mardon said.

Credit Suisse Board Member Appointed UBS Group Treasurer
UBS has appointed Mirko Bianchi as Group
Treasurer, the Swiss lender said in an internal memo published last week and has been seen by Reuters today (Monday). Bianchi served as a member of the Board at Credit Suisse
before UBS acquired the bank.
Before joining Credit Suisse, Bianchi
worked for Unicredit, where he held several roles, including as the Group CFO, Group
Treasurer, and CEO of Wealth Management and Private Banking. He will start his role on July 1.
Bianchi takes over from Bea Martin, who
was appointed Head of Non-Core and Legacy and President EMEA Region in
leadership changes undertaken since the takeover.
Former Scope Markets Executive Joins Titan FX
Daniel Mackenzie Clark, who has been a part of Scope Markets for over four years, has joined Titan FX, another forex and contracts for differences (CFDs) broker, as a Supervisor for Risk and Operations.
He is based in London and has already taken up the new role, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Clark joined Titan FX from Scope Markets (owned by Rostro Group) where he was the Head of Partnerships. He joined the broker's Institutional Sales team at the London offices in February 2019.
He entered the financial services industry in 2011 and worked for several companies. On top of that, he spent four years serving GKFX and took a short six months stint at Capital Index.
