After more than four years at oneZero Financial Systems, Safwat Hamdan has been promoted to Director of Sales and Relationship Management. With over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, Hamdan, who spent a decade at Thomson Reuters, will lead the sales department for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.

Hamdan earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer System Engineering from Palestine Polytechnic University in 2006 and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Central Lancashire in 2014. Thanks to this, he combines programming and financial market experience in his work.

"I'm thrilled to announce that I've been promoted to Director of Sales and Business Development at oneZero Financial Systems! I am excited to start my new role, which comes at a time with many busy days for the upcoming IFX Expo and Forex Expo in the next two weeks," he commented on his LinkedIn profile.

Before joining oneZero Financial Systems, Hamdan worked as an IT Technical Manager for Omnivest Capital Online Forex Ltd. In 2009, he began a decade-long stint with Thomson Reuters, initially as an IT analyst and later as a Technical Support Executive. Additionally, he has been running a sports agency focused on finding young and talented soccer players in the MENA region for several years.

In April 2019, he left Thomson Reuters to join oneZero as an Operations Engineer. Over the years, he has worked as the Customer Success Manager, Senior Manager, and Team Leader. As of September, he has taken on the Director of Sales and Relationship Management responsibilities for the EMEA region.

Hamdan is tasked with enhancing client satisfaction and retention. He will serve as a dedicated liaison for clients, streamlining the onboarding process in collaboration with Operations and Sales teams. Further, he will be responsible for completing requests for proposals (RFPs), developing pricing models, and negotiating contracts. Safwat also gathers client requirements for deployment, coordinating with internal teams for effective implementation.

"I want to take this opportunity and thank everyone who was part of my amazing career journey at OneZero! Looking forward to continuing to provide even greater value and business relationships to our valuable clients," Hamdan added.

Staff Changes at oneZero

Hamdan's promotion is not the only personnel change this month and throughout the year for oneZero. In early September, Finance Magnates reported that Louay Amhaz, the Director of Business Development, left his position. His LinkedIn profile showed that he has served the company for over seven years, having previously worked at PrimeXM as the Global Business Development Manager.

Earlier in March 2023, Owen Tu was elevated from Senior Relationship Manager to Director of Sales and Relationship Management, bringing extensive expertise in the prime brokerage sector. oneZero also welcomed Julián Gay, an eFX tech executive, in January 2023 as the new Director of Institutional Sales for the EMEA region.

Additionally, Stephen Totten, formerly the Global Head of eFX at UniCredit, joined the firm at the same time as Julián Gay as its Director of Quantitative Analysis after an 11-year tenure at the pan-European bank.
