Julie Ros, known in the FX industry for running the Profit & Loss magazine for more than two decades, has joined Templum as the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). She has already assumed the new role based in New York.

Operating in the Private Markets

Templum is a New York-based broker-dealer, and Alternative Trading System approved to trade unregistered private securities across the United States. It allows investors to participate in the asset class through integrated market technologies and APIs.

“I’m thrilled to join Templum and help tell the story of how it is modernizing access to private markets and alternative assets,” Ros noted in a LinkedIn post.

“With AUM in alternatives poised for rapid growth over the next several years, yet constrained by outdated processes, Templum is providing the technology that is helping the industry harness this growth.”

A Well-Known FX Journalist

Ros founded Profit & Loss magazine in 1999 and ran it as the Editor-in-Chief and CEO. It published a print magazine twice a year, operated an online news and events brand, as well as several other titles. However, she was forced to shutter her company in November 2020 due to the adverse effects of Covid-19.

After closing down Profit & Loss, she became a part of a number of other companies operating in the FX and crypto industries. Her first role after Profit & Loss was as a Marketing Consultant at New York-based Genesis for more than a year. Most recently, she was the Fractional CMO at FX HedgePool, managing its marketing and public relations services.

“During her time as a journalist, Julie has written extensively about the electronification of the foreign exchange market and the advent of digital assets and fractionalization,” Templum noted in a post on LinkedIn. “She joins Templum at a similar inflection point for private markets and alternative assets, which suffer from many of the same fragmentation and legacy processes that FX once did.”

“Julie’s experience fits right in with our mission to modernize market access, connecting a broader class of investments with a broader set of investors through robust technology and regulatory-compliant solutions.”
