Bjørn Sibbern Appointed Global Head Exchanges at SIX

Bjørn Sibbern has been appointed as the Global Head of Exchanges and a Member of the Executive Board at SIX. He will begin the role on January 1, 2024. With extensive experience of two decades in capital markets, Sibbern has held various leadership positions at Nasdaq. He will assume Christoph Landis's role and be in charge of the Swiss and Spanish Exchanges at SIX and the digital exchange SDX.

Earlier, he held the position of Executive Vice President and President of European Markets at Nasdaq.

Sheena Kanabar Joins Capital.com as Group CCO

Capital.com has reported Sheena Kanabar's appointment as its Group Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). Based in London, Kanabar will lead the company's worldwide compliance teams and secure strict compliance with regulatory standards across the firm. Peter Hetherington, the Group CEO, has confirmed that the position underlines Capital.com's continuous focus on upholding high regulatory standards.

Before her current appointment at Capital.com, Kanabar accumulated broad experience in the global brokerage sector. She earlier served as Group CCO at ADSS, where she developed the global compliance strategy. Her assignment at ADSS was followed by 11 years at CMC Markets, where she navigated her path in several senior compliance roles.

BVNK Promotes McLennan

Graham Mc Lennan, who joined BVNK in May as a trader, has quickly risen through the ranks. Over a year and a half, he moved from the Senior Trader to the Liquidity & Execution Manager, and in September 2023, he was promoted to the Head of Liquidity Solutions.

In the past, Mc Lennan worked for IG Group as the Equity Dealer and as the Accounts Clerk at Jay Bee Castings CC.

BVNK, located in London, offers banking and payment services related to cryptocurrency.

Vodeno Gets New CEO and New Chair

A Banking-as-a-service in Europe, Vodeno reported today (Tuesday) of two new executive appointments, Philip McHugh as Chairman, and Noah Sharp as the new CEO. The both bring decades of experience to the roles, being industry veterans.

Previously, McHugh headed PaySafe, a payments firm, as its CEO. He was additionally TSYS Merchant Solutions' Senior Executive Vice President, as well as the President and CEO at Barclaycard Business Solutions. Citi also enjoyed the benefit of his experience for several years in management roles.

Before Vodeno onboard Sharp in the new role, he held the position of Deputy CEO at BCB Group. He is also a former executive from Paysafe, having served the firm as its Chief Banking Officer. Moreover, he has served in a number of senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank and Deutsche Bank.

oneZero Shakes Up Sales Team with New Director

oneZero Financial Systems recently promoted Safwat Hamdan to Director of Sales and Relationship Management after being with the company for only four years. He originally joined the firm as an Operations Engineer and has progressed quickly through the ranks to gain his present executive role.

Hamdan has spent 15 years gaining experience in the financial industry, with a decade of that from working at Thomson Reuters. In the role, which started earlier this month, he is responsible for increasing client satisfaction, adoption, retention, and a host of other areas. From the point of sale, the team will be a dedicated liaison for assigned clients, directing them through the onboarding process to confirming they are employing the product suite to better suit the cleints' business needs.

FX Veteran Leaves INFINOX to Join Alchemy Prime as Institutional Sales Head

Chris Hossain-Nelson, a veteran in forex and contracts for differences (CFDs), has departed from INFINOX to unite with Alchemy Prime (based in London) as the new Head of Institutional Sales for eFX and CFDs.

Established in 2013 with headquarters in London, Alchemy Prime delivers FX Prime Brokerage solutions with “direct access to all Tier-1 and Tier 2 FX liquidity venues.” It retains clients covers a broad range including brokers, hedge funds and money managers, banks, and professional traders. The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) provided its licensing requirements.

Former BUX Managing Director Joins Zara FX as Chief Operating Officer

After almost two years as the European fintech BUX's Managing Director (MD), Jean-Raphael Nahas has announced that he recently joined the retail broker, Zara FX team as its new Group Chief Operating Officer. This marks another substantial move for the firm, following the appointment last week of a new Chief Financial Officer.

Jean-Raphael Nahas has in excess of a decade's worth of experience in the fintech industry, specializing in Contracts for Difference and foreign exchange. He started his career in 2012 as the Head of Business Development for Blackwell Global Investments. Over time, he has served various firms, including FX88, IMS Markets, and Finteractive. On top of that, he was recruited by BUX's Cypriot branch as the MD in February 2022.
