However, there has been a positive change in the number of executive roles being recruited in the forex, crypto and fintech industries over the last few weeks. Nium Hires Sharon Gal Franko as Israel GM and Global Partnerships VP

Nium has enhanced its leadership with the appointment of Sharon Gal Franko as the General Manager of Israel and Vice President of Global Partnerships.

With headquarters in Singapore, London, San Fransisco, and Malta, Nium offers a global payments platform for businesses. Its offerings include pay-outs, pay-ins, card issuance, and banking-as-a-service. Also, the company improved its infrastructure by adding decentralized capabilities through a partnership with Stellar Development Foundation following the launch of an API-based solution that enables global businesses to accept crypto payments.

State Street Picks Andreas Przewloka as SSBI Chief Executive Officer

State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) has announced the appointment of Andreas Przewloka as a new Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for its subsidiary State Street Bank International GmbH (SSBI). Przewloka joins the bank from UBS and brings more than 20 years of experience to the new post.

According to the press release published on Wednesday, the newly appointed SSBI CEO assumed his role effective from 1 January 2023 and will report directly to Joerg Ambrosius, the Chairman of the Board of SSBI and Chief Commercial Officer for State Street.

eToro Promotes Meron Shani to Group CFO

eToro promoted Meron Shani to the new Group Chief Financial Officer. He has already taken up the new role and is based in the Tel Aviv offices of the retail broker.

Before the latest appointment of Shani, Shalom Berkovitz held the position of eToro's CFO and Deputy CEO. The broker confirmed to Finance Magnates that Berkovitz is retiring, and Shani is replacing him in the CFO role.

Shani joined eToro in 2019 and has been a part of the company for about four years now. Before his promotion as the Group CFO, he was the Vice President of Finance.

Credit Suisse’s Cathal Deasy Exits European Banking Co-Head Role

Cathal Deasy, the Co-Head of Investment Banking and Capital Markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Credit Suisse, has left her role at the global investment bank, Financial News reports. Deasy is leaving the role months after he was appointed into the joint position in September last year.

The senior executive’s departure comes at a period when many top executives have exited from the bank following the impact of the collapse of the family office Archegos Capital on the firm.

Tradeweb Veteran Billy Hult Takes on CEO Role

Tradeweb Markets has elevated Billy Hult to the Chief Executive Officer role, implementing its leadership succession plan.

According to a press release issued on Tuesday, Hult replaces Lee Olesky, who retired on 31 December 2022. Currently, he serves as the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.

Hult has been with Tradeweb since 2000 and is responsible for developing several of the company's key markets, including wholesale electronic trading and mortgages.

Swift Re-Hires Stephen Grainger as Americas and UK CEO

IG Group has recruited Manuel Barbero in the position of Global Head of Acquisition and Media. Previously, Barbero was IG Group’s Global Head of Media for Performance Marketing.

The executive announced his promotion on Tuesday on LinkedIn. Barbero joined IG Group in December 2014 as the Senior Paid Search Manager. The new position is his fifth consecutive role with the online trading services provider.

Wells Fargo Adds Niall Brady to Institutional FX Sales Team

Wells Fargo has strengthened its Institutional Forex Sales team with Niall Brady. He has joined the London offices of an American multinational financial services company.

Brady is a forex industry expert with approximately 24 years of experience under his belt. He joined Wells Fargo from the London offices of NatWest Corporates and Institutions, where he joined as the Head of FX Flow Execution Services for EMEA and separated as the Head of Banks, Brokers, and Systematic Funds Sales for Rates & FX.

Nomura’s Tim Albers Rejoins Barclays as Head of FX Strats & Structuring

Barclays has hired Tim Albers as its Head of FX Strats and Structuring, AEJ. Albers left his previous role at Nomura after over 13 and a half years.

The executive boasts about 15 years of industry experience and previously worked as a forex executive at Barclays Capital between October 2008 and May 2009. He first joined the British bank in October 2008 after spending a year and five months as a Forex Analyst at Lehman Brothers.

Crypto.com’s COO Eric Anziani Is Promoted to President

Crypto.com announced its promotion of Eric Anziani to President. He will persist as the Chief Operating Officer of the cryptocurrency exchange, which he has taken on since September 2019.

In his extended role, Anziani will oversee the company’s operations, including customer experience, onboarding and global payments. Moreover, he will continue to lead the crypto exchange’s lead strategy, product, sales, international expansion, data, research, and blockchain integration.
