Thomas Zeeb is leaving the Executive Board of SIX after spending more than 14 years at the Swiss stock exchange . He will step down at the end of January as the group's Global Head of Exchanges.

The Zurich-based exchange is now searching for a successor to Zeeb and has appointed Christoph Landis, another member of SIX’s Executive Board and the Head of IT, to take over Zeeb’s responsibilities on an interim basis. Landis has been a part of SIX since 1992 and previously led the Swiss Stock Exchange between 2015 and 2018.

Though Zeeb’s future plans are unclear at this time, the group revealed that he is considering the creation of new business models to explore further opportunities to shape the capital markets industry.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of SIX, I would like to thank Thomas for his great commitment to SIX,” said Jos Dijsselhof, the CEO of SIX.

Thomas Zeeb Is a Financial Industry Veteran

Zeeb joined the group in October 2008 as the Chief Executive Officer of its Divisions Securities Service, a role he held for more than nine years. Later, he became the Head of Securities and Exchanges before landing the role of Global Head of Exchanges.

He has about 35 years of experience working in the financial services industry. He joined SIX from Deutsche Börse’s Clearstream, where he spent more than four years in multiple executive roles. According to his Linkedin, he started his career at TD Bank Group and also worked at Deutsche Bank and Bank of New York.

“With the development of the traditional trading and post-trading business and the founding of the SIX Digital Exchange, he successfully contributed to the further development of the company and its sustainable orientation towards the future. I wish him personally and professionally all the best for his future career,” Dijsselhof added.
