Stripe, an online payment processing platform, announced the official release of Stripe Apps and the Stripe App Marketplace on Tuesday. According to the announcement made in a blog post, through Stripe Apps, businesses can simplify operations and combine fragmented workflows.
By using the Intercom app in the Stripe App Marketplace, a customer support agent can see a customer’s full history of support and directly reply to support tickets from Stripe's Dashboard customer details page. In addition, the Stripe App Marketplace offers apps for accounting, analytics , CRM, eSignature, marketing and other business functions. More than 50 apps will be available at launch, including DocuSign, Dropbox, Intercom, Mailchimp, Ramp and Xero. Over time, Stripe plans to add more partners and apps, as well as non-English language apps.
“With the Intercom app integrated into Stripe, our customers can investigate issues, answer payment queries, approve refunds and more from the Stripe Dashboard. They can do all this while still providing real-time, in-context support to customers via the Intercom messenger,” Des Traynor, the Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Intercom, pointed out.

We’re excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to see the ingenuity of all the apps that developers will build in the months and years ahead,” Bowen Pan, the Head of Product for Stripe Apps, commented.
App developers can build apps and publish them to the Stripe App Marketplace to reach the millions of businesses that use Stripe. Additionally, custom apps can be developed for internal use within an agency. They could, for example, build an app displaying information from internal CRM and ERP systems in the Stripe Dashboard.
