Payment Startup Clinkle has recruited another tech company executive with Twitter’s former Josh Brewer.
Brewer served as Twitter’s head of design, and was responsible for the latest updates to Twitter’s look and feel of the social network on both web and mobile applications. Brewer left the micro-blogging firm back in June. Brewer is set to serve as Clinkle’s Vice President of Design
"When I look at things we do every day that mobile will transform, nothing stands out like Payments , and Clinkle is poised to be a leader in the space. Like me, Clinkle believes that engineering and design are two sides of the same coin," Brewer said in a press release.
This is not the first “big-time” executive Clinkle has snagged. This past January Clinkle hired PayPal’s former senior director of large enterprise finance and the North America financial planning and analysis Mike Liberatore. Liberatore will act as the company’s CFO
The technology behind Clinkle’s innovative technology is still unknown. With the head of design behind one of the most active social networks, and with a CFO brought in from one of the largest payment service providers, Clinkle should prove to be a heavy hitter in the mobile payments arena, challenging the likes of Google wallet, MasterPass, and Square.
Recently, Clinkle’s database was hacked leading to an embarrassing photo of CEO Lucas Duplan to be leaked online.
