PR: MasterCard names Andrea Scerch as President of DataCash

Former Division President for Central Europe at MasterCard joins DataCash

MasterCard has today announced that Andrea Scerch has been appointed President of DataCash, in charge of providing strategic direction and leadership of the company, and will be based in the UK.

DataCash was acquired by MasterCard in 2010, and is a key driver of MasterCard’s e-Commerce strategy and digital convergence solutions globally, allowing the company to provide new services to acquiring customers and drive increased e-Commerce penetration in both existing and new markets via merchant and technology based partners.

Previously Andrea held the position of Division President for Central Europe at MasterCard. He will contribute his experience to provide management for MasterCard’s global end-to-end gateway processing solutions organisations – DataCash Group Companies and MasterCard Internet Services (DataCash MiGs), as well as DataCash’s Fraud and Risk Management Tools.

Prior to joining MasterCard Europe in 2005, Andrea served as an associate principal with McKinsey & Company in Milan, Italy. At McKinsey, he worked with large pan European retail banks leading strategic projects on key business topics.

Andrea holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and has a degree in Economics and Business Administration from La Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.

Andrea Scerch will replace Ajay Bhalla who takes on a larger role in MasterCard.
