Seamless Distribution (NASDAQ:SEAM), a Stockholm-listed Payments company, has once again expanded its SEQR solution, this time to Sweden, leaning on the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, a set of communication protocols that helps streamline Connectivity between electronic devices, per a recent Seamless statement.

Seamless is responsible for upwards of 3.7 billion transactions each year, helping provide mobile payment technologies. SEQR Contactless is a borderless solution that caters to users requiring international transactions utilizing contactless card terminals. Per the recent expansion, SEQR’s contactless solution is now live in Sweden, the latest European country to receive the capabilities.

Just last week, Seamless also expanded its payment technologies throughout Europe, launching SEQR in Austria, Ireland, Malta, and Luxembourg. The addition of Sweden is important as it makes it possible for Swedish users to pay with SEQR in any store that supports the functionality domestically or abroad, which does not necessitate merchants having a private agreement with SEQR.

According to Peter Fredell, CEO of Seamless, in a recent statement on the expansion: “Now SEQR customers will be able to pay using SEQR in any store which has NFC payment terminals. This offers our customers the chance to use SEQR in many, many more places and countries than today. Naturally this will drive a significant increase in use of SEQR from our existing customers, but we also anticipate large demand for SEQR from new customers eager to benefit from this new technology.”
