Alternative payment method provider Skrill has appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO) in the form of David Clarke.
Clarke will oversee the financial management of Skrill Group’s global operations, which include Skrill, paysafecard and payolution. Clarke joins Skrill from Lebara Mobile, where held the position of CFO until April of 2013.
Prior to his position at Lebara Mobile, Clarke served as VP and CFO EMEA for PayPal for nearly a decade. He also has financial experience after working at Logical, BroadVision, New Era of Networks Limited and Cantor Fitzgerald, holding senior finance roles.
“The appointment of David Clarke as Skrill Group CFO demonstrates our commitment to delivering best in class online payment solutions to our customers worldwide. I have no doubt that David’s wealth of experience will enable us to reinforce and extend our current position at the heart of the online Payments industry," said Skrill Group CEO Siegfried Heimgaertne on the new addition to his team.
Clake’s activities as CFO will play a pivotal role in making sure all of the companies under the Skrill Group umbrella continue to invest and innovate in order to meet evolving customer needs and support ongoing growth.
“I am delighted to be joining Skrill Group, where success has been driven by a deep commitment to innovation. In an age of skepticism towards some traditional financial institutions, companies like Skrill, paysafecard and payolution, which don’t have complex legacy infrastructures, can be nimble and provide a range of alternative services to meet customer needs. I look forward to taking the finance function to the next level, and working with the leadership team to further grow the business,” Davide Clarke added on his new position.
