UK consumers love to shop online

eMarketer, research company has predicted that, given the e-commerce appetite of UK consumers, one of the biggest online-shopping nations in the world, UK Business-to-Consumer (B2C) ) e-commerce sales is rising and will continue to do so. The results, as published on Telecompaper are:

Sales will reach 62.49 bln Pounds in 2013 and 89.73 bln Pounds (16% of total retail sales) by 2017

At 44.06 bln Pounds retail e-commerce sales will signify 70.5% of all B2C e-commerce sales which will reach 72.5% in 2017.

Mobile and tablet sales will increase by 71.8% in 2013 or 6.61 bln Pounds, which is 15% of UK retail e-commerce sales.

M-commerce sales will grow by 2 bln Pounds pre year and will reach 17.24 bln Pounds in 2017.

This is obviously good news for e-merchants who are going to need to fill their virtual stores with product and find new services to provide for customers of the world-wide-web. Statistics are clearly indicating that the UK likes online and is planning to press the checkout button on several occasions in the next four years.
