WorldPay brings credit card facilities to everyone

WorldPay Zinc: mobile activated credit card application, created for small business

WorldPay, traditionally recognized in the industry as a payment gateway, for card-not-present environments, has announced the creation of its new mobile pay as you go 'Chip & PIN' service.

This product has emerged out of a gap in the market. When small or even one-man merchants provide goods or services to the public and, in the absence of credit card facilities, are forced to request cash from customer s, the result is often not profitable. Studies indicate that consumers find it to be inconvenient and unprofessional and because of this, the need to find a solution has become pertinent.

Even-though WorldPay Zinc has not yet been released, WorldPay has trialed it, using several small businesses, with positive results. "I've found that customers are much more willing to splash out if they can pay on their card," says Danny Higgins, a Professional Photographer.

The way it works is as follows: businesses and sole traders apply online at www.worldpayzinc.com or download the WorldPay Zinc app on their smartphone or tablet and apply through the app. They then purchase a black Chip & PIN keypad online or at John Lewis for £59.99 and can be ready to take Payments by the following day.

An interesting advancement for a world where paper is past, plastic is present and coded data is moving us into the future.
