November 22 at 10:00 – Centre Stage | The Cutting Edge: Advances in Trading Technology

While some factors affecting brokers’ bottom line involve market moves and unexpected events, using innovative technology is a constant must. This is hardly surprising given the dynamic nature of the retail industry and the evolving needs of clients. The in-depth panel includes the following speakers:

Elina Pedersen CRO – Chief Revenue Officer – Your Bourse

Jon Light – VP of Trading Solutions – Devexperts

Wassim Khateeb – Chief Commercial Officer – FXCUBIC

Albina Zhdanova – COO – Tools for Brokers

Damian Bunce – Trading Officer – Exness

Matt Barrett – CEO & Co-Founder – Adaptive Financial Consulting

Technology experts look to break down the latest developments in product suites, providing proven tips to reduce friction and grow efficiency. What are brokers’ biggest pain points, and what can be done? How can retail brokers efficiently manage their liquidity flows? How can brokers with the same tech providers retain USPs? Which tools and features, were most popular in 2022, and what the future holds?

You will be speaking on The Cutting Edge: Advances in Trading Technology panel, what do you think will be the highlight of the discussion, and why should the audience attend it?

Elina Pedersen CRO (Your Bourse): The brokers should attend the panel to stay on top of the fintech trends and the new tools released to help brokers understand and manage their flow better. I am very excited to moderate the discussion between the industry's tech experts, as the panel always turns out to be very interesting and insightful with many different viewpoints and angles.

There is a vast variety of tools and strategies to manage the flow and in our industry for sure “one size” doesn’t fit all. Therefore, staying on top of the main tech trends is always essential, so let’s see what the tech companies have prepared for us this year, shall we?

Jon Light (Devexperts): It's been an interesting year with many developments in trading technology, as the year ends it’s a good opportunity to reflect. It will be great to discuss with my industry peers what is coming next and what are the important new features and requests from brokers. I’m particularly interested in how brokers can really differentiate themselves in a market where most offerings are very similar.

Wassim Khateeb (FXCUBIC): I am looking forward to participating in the 10th edition of the FMLS in November and to taking part in this very interesting discussion panel. I think the panel will be particularly interesting in these times of high volatility and that we will be debating on interesting topics such as how brokers can optimize their flow and profitability using data analytics and innovative technology in these periods of rapid market fluctuations.

Albina Zhdanova (Tools for Brokers): With the news starting to boom from early September, we see technology at last transforming, and it’s one of the hottest and most profound topics of the coming days. The audience, therefore, has a very good chance to listen for the overview, ask questions and find answers on how to adjust the company strategy.

Damian Bunce (Exness): The markets have provided a wave of opportunities this year and savvy traders have capitalised on moves in Oil. Gold, Crypto and Indices as economic and geo-political situations have occurred, we discuss the modern day consumer and their relationship with brokers and liquidity.

Matt Barrett (Adaptive Financial Consulting): Global events in 2022 have been challenging financial markets. We need to future proof our businesses now more than ever through the right technology stacks to retain competitive advantage. The panel will look at ways to differentiate and the latest technology trends to do so, such as the move to the Cloud, reducing reliance on vendor solutions – the buy-to-build debate, designing great experiences for clients and OSS initiatives. It’s about striking the right balance between flexible, bespoke solutions and getting to market quickly.

What are you looking forward to the most at FMLS?

Elina Pedersen (Your Bourse): FMLS, ever since I attended the first event 10 years ago, has become the major event to stay connected to my network across the world. Personally, I find that FMLS London attracts the most decision makers and senior execs when compared with other industry events anywhere else. That is why it’s the best event to know where the industry is heading and to gather feedback on potential challenges or concerns that the brokers may have, as well as to offer possible solutions and just to share the news in general.

Jon Light (Devexperts): I'm most looking forward to networking with the industry, connecting with our clients and partners and talking to new firms about what Devexperts can offer. As well as looking to the future and understanding the new trends and innovations in the space.

Wassim Khateeb (FXCUBIC): I am looking forward to this 10th edition of the FMLS, especially because for the first time it will be organised over 3 days of networking which is an important factor for the exhibitors.

Albina Zhdanova (Tools for Brokers): I’d say something I look forward to the most at FMLS22 is getting to meet and catch up with an amazing mix of talented professionals from different fields within the financial industry.

We’ve been going through turbulent times for several years now, and with the current market shift towards a multiplatform approach for trading, I am expecting to hear a lot of insight and practical recommendations from fellow market players. The more knowledge we can share with each other, the better we will be able to navigate the change in the best way possible.

Damian Bunce (Exness): As always I look forward to connecting with peers and former colleagues and in particular to founders and brave newcomers that see an opportunity to challenge the status quo and move our industry forward.

Matt Barrett (Adaptive Financial Consulting): FMLS is one of the biggest FinTech & Finance events of the year and it’s fantastic to connect face-to-face with our clients but also to hear from other industry leaders about their experiences and how they are tackling technology challenges.

Tell us a bit about what you do/your company/who you are looking to network with?

Elina Pedersen CRO (Your Bourse): Your Bourse is a cutting-edge execution technology provider. If we need to be described in one word, the word would be: Performance. We have the fastest matching engine in the industry – 2 microseconds order processing time. As a matter of fact, it’s the only matching engine in our industry, all other companies only provide aggregation.

We can process 500’000 order events per 1 second on 1 CPU. The matching engine is suitable for all asset classes, not just CFD’s and can be used for both A and B book brokers to optimise their profitability. Your Bourse of course also integrated with all major trade platforms, offers FIX API Server for liquidity distribution, Risk Management, Reporting and many more.

We are happy to speak to anyone who would like to have an in-depth discussion on price discovery and a proper flow and liquidity management. Our c level team all had run successful A and B book brokerage firms, and we are here to make this industry better. We are truly passionate about what we do and will gladly share the knowledge we have.

Matt Barrett ( Adaptive Financial Consulting): Adaptive designs and delivers front-to-back bespoke trading solutions, using our high-performance technology accelerators, developed on Aeron, the global standard for low latency messaging in capital markets. From leading retail trading platforms to low latency exchanges, we enable our clients to own their bespoke business logic and drive ongoing innovation.

Jon Light (Devexperts): This year marks Devexperts' 20th year providing trading platforms and solutions for brokers and exchanges. With offerings across FX, CFD, Spreadbets, Crypto and Equities.

We cater to everyone from start-ups with our out of the box SaaS solution, through to the largest brokers with our enterprise deployments that can be tailored to their needs by our 700 strong team of developers. I am head of product for our OTC offerings and am looking to network with partners and potential clients.

Wassim Khateeb (FXCUBIC): I am the Chief Commercial Officer of FXCUBIC. FXCUBIC is a fintech company that designs low latency softwares for Bridging, Aggregation and offers innovative solutions for Liquidity Management, Pricing, Reporting and Risk/Execution Management'.

Albina Zhdanova (Tools for Brokers): I’ve been the COO at TFB for several years now, and my main focus at the moment is on helping our clients to transform with the market demands, helping brokers and hedge funds build resilient businesses through cutting-edge technology.

Our Trade Processor liquidity bridge was the first to introduce a decentralized approach to bridging, where brokers have a say about their configuration and also where their servers sit and what are their servers. Which has proved to be the most suitable technology for brokers today.

In terms of networking, I would be interested in meeting different industry experts to learn about their unique perspectives on the events and trends that we are all seeing and working with today.

Damian Bunce (Exness): Exness is a large global retail market maker focussed on providing exceptional levels of liquidity, and better than market conditions in assets like commodities, FX, Indices and crypto instruments. In 2023, we look to extend our client base into the B2B arena and look to network with potential future partners.
