Make It or Break It for Brokers in Africa & Beyond

A large focus will be spent on brokerage opportunities in Africa. Indeed, many trading firms and service providers set their sights on Africa as a driver for growth.

This will be the emphasis at one of the event’s most anticipated panels this May, Make it or Break it, taking place on May 10, 10:50-11:30 at Centre Stage.

This session will provide an insider’s look into the most crucial aspects of the trading business development in the continent, and beyond. Join a host of experts to gain access to some moneymaking tips. This panel for FMAS:23 will include the following talented speakers:

  • Joseph Michael Stephani, Head of Africa Region, HF Markets Group
  • Nick Sproule, MD – South Africa, Trade Nation
  • Solomon Gouden, Country Manager – South Africa, markets.com
  • Nelisiwe Masango, Founder & CEO, Ubuntu Invest
  • Mark Weetman, CEO & Key Individual, Unum Capital
  • (Moderator) Jimmy Moyaha, Founder & Financial Markets Specialist, Lebowa Capital

According to Mr Sproule: “I am very excited to be participating in a panel discussion at FMAS. Africa has long been seen as a growth region for brokers but navigating the regulatory landscape and payment options has provided some challenges. Attending this discussion will provide guests with some insight into the products and services that will shape growth in the region.”

The panelists will also look to answer the following questions: Which assets, tools, and features are most appealing to local traders? How to work productively with local IBs and affiliates (and stay compliant)? How do liquidity relationships work across markets and regions? What developments do you need to know about in the FSCA and other regulators?

“The highlight of the discussion will likely be the challenges and opportunities facing brokers operating in Africa and other emerging markets. Brokers in these regions face unique regulatory, economic, and cultural challenges that can make it difficult to succeed. However, there are also many opportunities for growth and innovation in these markets, and brokers who are able to navigate these challenges can thrive. The audience should attend the discussion to learn more about these challenges and opportunities, and to gain insights into how successful brokers have overcome them,” noted Mr Stephani ahead of the event.
