MetaQuotes Rolls Out Software Upgrade - Glitch Reported

Following the software upgrade applied to the MetaTrader 4 Trading Platform during the course of the weekend, a number of brokers have experienced orders not being filled and open positions not being displayed in various broker databases subsequent to the upgrade having been applied.

It is evident that this has affected many brokers which operate the MetaTrader 4 platform, although not all. MetaQuotes often forces updates to client servers in an effort to protect the connectivity protocols and deliver new features across the board to all brokers, ensuring continuity and standardization across the board.

In some cases, when performing updates, MetaQuotes will send a live update to broker servers even if the live update setting is switched off. It is quite possible that this can cause the modification of a data structure and therefore corrupt an orders database.

Some technology providers experienced technical incompatibilities, as in the case of Tools For Brokers, who published a notice to their clients that the release of MetaTrader 4 build 482 affected their Orders Add function and trade duplicator plugins. MetaQuotes have confirmed that this will be resolved in build 483.

Forex Magnates have spoken to some of the brokers concerned, which are currently in the process of documenting what actually happened and the level to which it affected their order system, and will endeavor to publish these when known.
