Global Forex and CFD broker Axi has renewed its partnership with LaLiga club Girona FC for another two seasons. The broker initially joined forces with the Spanish club at the start of the 2023/24 season, becoming their Official LATAM Online Trading Partner.

During this period, Girona FC achieved notable success, finishing third in LaLiga and securing a spot in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

Axi and Girona Extend Partnership

In the spring, Axi introduced its first player activation campaign with Girona, known as the Axi Penalty Challenge. This campaign was targeted specifically at the LATAM audience and featured players Savio, Yan Couto, and Paulo Gazzaniga. The challenge aimed to highlight both their football skills and their knowledge of trading.

Aside from Girona FC, Axi has established partnerships with other football clubs. The broker has been the Official Online Trading Partner of Premier League Champions Manchester City FC and Manchester City Women since 2020. They also sponsor Brazilian football club Esporte Clube Bahia. Last year, Axi added England International John Stones as its Brand Ambassador.

Crypto CFD Trading Surge

In March, Axi reported a surge in trading volume for crypto contracts for differences (CFDs) to US$16.7 billion, up from US$7.6 billion in January and US$10.4 billion in February, as reported by Finance Magnates.

The broker executed 1.5 million crypto CFD trades, with 10% of March trades being crypto-related. This marked a tenfold increase from July-September averages. The growth is attributed to a significant rise in active crypto CFD traders, mainly driven by existing clients shifting towards crypto due to market volatility.
