Three months after entering a sports sponsorship agreement with the Brazilian football club, Esporte Clbe Bahia, Axi, an Australia-headquartered broker, has expanded its foothold in Latin America (LatAm) with a new football sponsorship deal. The online trading company is now the first partner of the Spanish football club, Girona FC, in LatAm.
Axi in Latin America
The football club, which is based in Catalonia, Spain, announced the deal today (Thursday) without disclosing the value of the deal. However, the sponsorship is expected to help both the multi-asset broker and the football club to strengthen their presence in the region.
“As a regional partner of Girona FC, Axi will work closely with the club to deliver a variety of promotional activities and fan engagement programmes in Latin America,” Girona FC mentioned in a statement. “These initiatives will include exclusive events, special promotions and unique experiences for Girona FC fans in those countries.”
Speaking about the deal, Hannah Hill, the Head of Brand and Sponsorship at Axi, noted that the brokerage aims to enhance the experience of its traders in the region through the strategic partnership with Girona.
"We couldn't be more excited about this incredible new partnership that brings two dynamic forces even closer in the world: football and trading,” Hill stated. “This collaboration represents a shared vision, a united passion and a commitment to success.”
Apart from the recent deal with Bahia, Axi recently expanded its deal with Manchester City, to include the English football club’s women’s team. The broker first became the football giant’s sponsor in September 2020 when it rebranded from AxiTrader.
Since the start of 2023, several other brokerages have secured various sponsorship deals within the football industry as well as in other sports. These deals include CFI’s agreement with Sheffield United, TMGM’s arrangement with Chelsea, AUS Global’s collaboration with Real Betis, eToro’s renewed partnership with SK Slavia Prague, and FxPro’s multi-year sponsorship of Aleksandr Chizov, a professional mixed martial artist from Latvia.
