After citing limited usage of the MetaTrader 5 platform, Alpari committed to discontinuing its support for it in the beginning of February. However, according to a new announcement on the company's website, the move will be reversed due to enough clients signaling that they are using the platform.

Back in 2012, Alpari was the first major broker to start offering the MetaTrader 5 trading platform. Currently, the availability of the platform is limited only to demo accounts, which Alpari announced it will discontinue starting from the beginning of March.

An Alpari spokesperson shared with Forex Magnates in the beginning of February, that less than 1% of Alpari clients in Russia and the CIS had used the MT5 platform in demo mode. No clients have been using the platform for real accounts.

The decision has been reversed due to the company receiving a large amount of comments regarding its plans to scrap MetaTrader 5 demo account support. The company has listened to the customers and decided to continue supporting the service for MetaTrader 5 demo accounts.

In addition, the company highlighted that starting from next Monday, the 16th of February, 2015, the quote accuracy for USD/RUB and EUR/RUB currency pairs will be changed from 5 to 3 decimal places.

The value of the Russian ruble has somewhat stabilized in the aftermath of the agreement crafted in Minsk between European leaders Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande, brokering a deal between Russian backed separatists and Ukraine.
