Exclusive: ATFX Launches Institutional Trading Desk
Bloomberg

FX and CFD broker ATFX told Finance Magnates on Monday that it is launching a new institutional desk.

Called ATFX Connect, the desk will target professional clients.

The broker will be providing a new set of technology to those prospective traders, with a new Trading Platform developed in conjunction with Celer Tech.

“We feel that with the current market challenges occurring in the retail arena that this is a good time for [us] to expand [our] offering to Institutional clients and to that end we have been developing ATFX Connect,” said Matt Porter, head of operations at ATFX Connect.

“We now have a platform that will enable clients to have access to bespoke Liquidity dependant on their needs, whether they need early trading on Sunday, to smaller ticket sizes we believe we will be able to cater for all needs, and this is just the start as we continue to develop the product to meet the growing needs of our clients now, and in the future.”

FX brokers - going pro

ATFX is the latest in a series of brokers that have developed an offering tailored to professional clients.

In June of this year, for example, ValuTrades announced the launch of an ‘institutional desk.’ Other brokers, such as CMC Markets and InterTrader, have also launched platforms geared towards more sophisticated traders.

Professional traders are appealing to brokers as, assuming they meet a particular set of standards, they don’t have to adhere to the leverage restrictions placed on most retail clients.
