CGS-CIMB Securities, a Singapore-based contract for difference (CFD) and Forex broker, announced today that it has launched a robo-advisory platform CGS-CIMB eWealth. The platform, which was launched through its subsidiary CGS-CIMB Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., offers personalised investment advisory services to the firm’s retail clients.

The platform was launched in partnership with Saxo Capital Markets, a subsidiary of Saxo Bank A/S, and Singapore fintech firm WeInvest. Through eWealth, traders will have access to so-called "guided investment journeys". The platform is not only available to clients of CGS-CIMB Securities. It can also be used by individual investors, corporations and financial advisory firms across the world.

Investment strategies on eWealth

The platform offers two types of investment strategies - goal-based and thematic. Goal-based investing provides portfolios that aim to achieve market returns. The initial investment starts from S$3,500 (around $2,570).

Thematic investing, on the other hand, combines quantitative strategies with factor-based investing. These portfolios seek to achieve above-market returns. For the thematic portfolios, the platform offers a 'US Refining' portfolio. This consists of companies that are likely beneficiaries of rising oil prices.

Alternatively, investors can also access the 'S-REITs' portfolio. This is particularly for clients looking for yield. Through the portfolio, traders can own 10 individual listed REITs without incurring the minimum brokerage fee.

Leveraging our strong research capabilities, we will provide clients with a wide range of portfolio selections, from conservative options for those with a low-risk appetite to aggressive ones for investors who possess a higher risk tolerance and want to achieve above-market returns.”
