CMC Markets, an online trading platform, is the latest broker in the Forex industry to take advantage of sports sponsorships, with the company announcing this Wednesday that it is sponsoring the 17-year-old motorsport racing prodigy Peter Vodanovich.

A New Zealand local, Vodanovich has quickly made a name for himself in the racing industry and is about to participate in the 2018-19 Toyota 86 Championship season. Unlike most racing professionals, he started out his career learning to race via a PlayStation simulator from when he was 15.

After a few simulated wins, Vodanovich moved to real racing in mid-2017. Already, he has made a name for himself as one of New Zealand’s youngest and fastest rising talents in motorsports.

In his debut year, Vodanovich was the Scholarship Winner of the Ssang Yong Racing Series and also secured titles at the 2K Cup and the BMW E30 Series Rookie Season. Earlier this year in May, he was selected to join the Elite Motorsport Academy.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Chris Smith, the General Manager at CMC Markets New Zealand, said: "Peter is a brilliant example of a young Kiwi who has shown exceptional passion and drive in reaching his ambitions. To have achieved so much in such a short period is to be congratulated. We wish Peter all the best for the 2018-19 Championship season, and look forward to being part of his journey."

2018-19 Toyota 86 Championship

The 2018-19 Toyota 86 Championship season consists of seven races between November of this year until April 2019. The aim of the race is to give up and coming drivers the ability to sharpen their skills and give them experience competing in some of the country’s leading race circuits. The winner of the tournament will be given the chance to compete in the Australian series next year.
