Aussie rules football team St Kilda announced on Monday that it had formed a sponsorship agreement with CMC Markets. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new partnership will see St Kilda playing with the retail broker's logo on their team shorts until at least 2022.
“Both of our organisations are built around the people who support us," said Matt Lewis, head of CMC Markets in Asia Pacific and Canada. "Our communities, whether investors or football fans, are what make us who we are and drive our continued growth and innovation."
‘We’re very happy to be part of the St Kilda Football Club community and we’re looking forward to supporting the club over the coming years.”
Old timers
This is not the first time that CMC Markets has tried its hand at sports sponsorship in Australia.
For several years, the Retail Trading firm sponsored NSW Waratahs - a rugby team based in New South Wales.
The company also announced a deal with a New Zealand motorsport racer last year.
“CMC Markets is a leading global financial services provider and Australia’s second-largest retail stockbroking provider,” said Chris Larkins, St Kilda's general manager of commercial.
“They have over 30 years of proven and trusted experience yet are still committed to constant innovation."
“As a proud foundation club, this really resonated with us, and we look forward to growing this partnership over the coming years.”
