According to the published data, Gaitame’s traders brought in $213 billion worth of transactions during the month. The figure shows an increase over last month’s by 20.5 percent although this figure was 42.2 percent lower than in the same period in 2015.
Gaitame is one of the biggest Japanese brokerages and, like many of its counterparts, it is no stranger to the lulls that the financial markets often see over the summer months. However, with seasonal lulls now in the background, and a steady growth in account numbers, the outlook appears to be brighter as the markets get back into full swing, albeit with some way to go in terms of year-on-year figures.
In terms of the group’s deposit totals in September 2016, Gaitame disclosed a figure of $1.1 billion, increasing marginally by 1 percent compared with August and still with some way to go after peaking in May.
Gaitame’s September 2016 trading volumes therefore reversed their downward decline but although this month’s statement reveals more positive data, the broker’s volumes are still far off its peak of $3.6 billion set back in February 2016.
