ICAP's EBS forex volumes up month on month in May 2011 but down year on year

ICAP, the world’s premier interdealer broker, announced today that total electronic broking volumes for the month of May on the BrokerTec and EBS platforms reached US$901.5billion, an increase of 10% month on month and a decrease of 1% year on year.

Total average daily volumes on the EBS platform were $175.2bn, up 19% month on month and down 18% year on year.

Total average daily volumes in fixed income products on the BrokerTec platform were $726.3bn, an increase of 8% on the previous month and an increase of 4% on the previous year.

Overall repo volumes reached $589.1bn, up 9% month on month and 13% year on year. US Treasury electronic broking volumes were flat month on month and decreased 23% year on year to $137.2bn.
