Crowdfunding is not only becoming a method for companies to raise funds for their projects or to sell equity, it is also raising brand awareness among the general public. Aiming to allow their clients to invest in them and raise a funding round, InvestYourWay announced today that they have launched equity crowdfunding on CrowdCube.

Partnering with IG Group which launched stockbroking services for longer term investors, InvestYourWay provides retail account holders bespoke portfolio management services. The product is similar to that of U.S. based SigFig and Next Capital, where account holders can connect their accounts and receive portfolio recommendations for long term investing. As opposed to robo-advisors such as Betterment and Wealthfront which invest on behalf of customers in ETFs, InvestYourWay provides customized portfolio allocation recommendations which they transact directly into their IG Group accounts.

It’s exciting, as an investment management firm, to be able to allow our clients and the market as a whole the opportunity to invest in us as a business: Michael Newell

Launching a funding round on CrowdCube, UK based InvestYourWay is aiming to raise £300,000 in a sale where 10.71% of company equity is being offered. Launched in Q4 2014, InvestYourWay is available to 85,000 IG customers from over 30 countries. According to the firm, since launching just over six months ago, average client returns are over 7% in that time. With the crowdfunding, InvestYourWay becomes available to its own customers who are now able to invest in the portfolio management service company.

As a Fintech firm with the goal of enabling smaller investors to receive professional portfolio services, Michael Newell, CEO of InvestYourWay viewed crowdfunding as another means to increase company transparency and provide value to general investors. About this, Newell commented about the partnership with CrowdCube that “From day one we have trodden our own path. From offering completely bespoke funds to re-inventing CFDs. Crowd funding was therefore a natural fit for the way we run our business and we are delighted to be working with Crowdcube to fuel our next phase of growth. It’s exciting, as an investment management firm, to be able to allow our clients and the market as a whole the opportunity to invest in us as a business.”
