IronFX, a forex broker, announced that it is an official sponsor of the 2018 Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) European Championship, a sailing race that is currently underway in Limassol, Cyprus. The race began on the 8th of September and will finish this Saturday.

The sponsorship is part of the forex broker’s long-established Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. According to the statement released by IronFX, the partnership with the racing event allows the firm to connect its corporate values with high-end sportsmanship.

Not only is IronFX sponsoring the event, it has also enlisted its own boat - the IronFX Racing Yacht - to participate in the competition. The firm’s yacht is representing Cyprus.

What is the ORC European Championship?

For those of you who are not aware, the ORC European Championship is an annual sailing race. This year it was organised by the Famagusta Nautical Club, the organisers behind Ioannideia, in conjunction with the City of Limassol.

This is the first time that the event has been hosted in the Eastern Mediterranean. Last year the race was held in Gdańsk, a port city on the Baltic coast of Poland. This year the race is comprised of eight scheduled races, including one inshore race. According to a statement from the event today, Estonia continues to lead the way on the second day of racing.

IronFX is expanding its horizons

Earlier this year, Finance Magnates reported another big announcement from the forex brokerage - that its cryptocurrency exchange, dubbed ‘IronX’, is set to launch as early as the fourth quarter of 2018.

The new trading venue, which is being created in collaboration with EmurgoHK ‎Group, a Hong Kong-based Blockchain accelerator and creator of the ‎Cardano Blockchain and the ADA Coin, is pursuing a Gibraltar blockchain license.

The destination, if approved, will operate as a regulated, ‎service-focused exchange that ‎facilitates funding via both fiat and Cryptocurrencies , as Finance Magnates exclusively reported in June.
