After filling the role of interim CEO for City Index since the departure of Martin Belsham in December 2013, the broker has announced that Mark Preston has been appointed as the company’s CEO. Preston arrived at City Index last October as he was brought to serve as Executive Chairman to work alongside and assist former CEO, Belsham. The exit of Belsham was part of an ongoing revolving door of executives at City Index which also included Paul Cassidy, the company’s Global Head of Marketing , Dan George, Global Head of Trading, and COO, Simon Bird leaving the firm last year.

Commenting on the appointment, stated in a company press release that, “Since joining City Index late last year, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with the talented staff we have in our offices around the world. During this time I was struck by my colleagues’ passion and commitment to develop and grow what is already one of the best recognised brands in global Retail Trading . I believe there is huge potential in the company and I am relishing the challenge of developing the business to become a leader in our chosen markets.”
