Monex Group Reports Weak May 2015 Financial Results

Monex Group reported its financial results for the month ending May 2015, marking the second report of the new official Japanese fiscal year (2016), according to a recent Monex Group statement.

For the month ending May 2015, Monex Group revealed an operating revenue of $36.24 million (¥4.45 billion), an impressive jump of 31.5% Year-over-Year from $27.54 million (¥3.38 billion) in May 2014. However, the figure becomes less impressive when weighed against the previous month, with operating revenue falling -6.31% MoM from $38.77 million (¥4.75 billion) in April, which was itself a disappointment compared with March 2015.

Released earlier this month, trading volumes data for the month of May 2015 revealed that the Japanese company’s global volumes marked the second slowest month this year. The monthly trading value for all subsidiaries of Monex Group Inc totaled $34.4 billion in May. The figure is 3.3% lower when compared to the previous month but remains 5% higher than a year ago. Due to Japanese holidays, the number of trading days for Japanese subsidiary Monex Inc was lower by three in May when compared to April's 18 trading days.
