Plus500 and Atletico Madrid End Long-Term Partnership

Online financial trading platform, Plus500 has now ended its long-standing partnership with Atletico Madrid, one of the most famous Spanish professional football clubs.

Rosolino Amenta, the Global Head of Partnerships at Atletico Madrid, confirmed the news in a recent announcement. “One of the most successful football sponsorships in Europe comes to an end. Seven years during which we have created indelible memories. Thank you Plus500 for these years by our side,” Amenta mentioned in a post.

Since the start of the partnership, Atletico Madrid and Plus500 had a strong relationship. The Spanish club and the financial trading services provider collaborated on several social initiatives and increased awareness about financial education.

In December 2020, Plus500 announced the extension of its long-term partnership with Atletico Madrid for the 2021/2022 season. Throughout the last seven years, Plus500 has increased its brand awareness significantly across different regions around the world.

New Sponsor

According to some reports, Atletico Madrid is set to announce the digital investment platform WhaleFin as its new sponsor. The Spanish club has recently revealed its new home and away shirts for the 2022/23 season.

Since the start of 2021, several leading crypto firms have announced billions of dollars worth of sponsorship deals with prominent football clubs around the world. In September last year, the French football club, PSG named Crypto.com as its first official cryptocurrency platform partner. Earlier this year, Chelsea confirmed a £20 million sponsorship deal with the digital investment platform, WhaleFin.

In 2020, Plus500 became the main sponsor of the Italian club, Atalanta BC.
