Samtrade FX has struck up a new two-year sponsorship deal with Cardiff City Football Club, which runs from the current 2020/2021 season.
The deal includes ‘Official Global FX Trading Partner’ status for Samtrade FX at the Championship club as well as company branding at the venue.
Founded in 1899, Cardiff City competes in the Championship, the second tier of the English football league system. The club’s most recent season in the Premier League was the 2018–19 season.
Samtrade FX will take advantage of advertising opportunities across the club’s various communications channels as well as engaging with both the club’s supporters and sponsors. Specifically, the broker will have its logo, branding, and corporate colours displayed on the Bluebirds’ jerseys, as well as on stadium big screens and pitch side LEDs during matches.
The full financial terms were not officially disclosed, but according to some industry estimates Samtrade FX is set to pay six figures a year for such a luxury. Sports partnerships stretching into $10 million are no longer a surprise and more of an expectancy at the top clubs.
The agreement marks a first foray into sports sponsorship for Samtrade FX, which is incorporated in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The company announced in July that it had secured licenses from the UK’s FCA and Australia’s ASIC . However, Samtrade FX says it will renounce its ASIC Regulation , and leave Australia in the next 2 weeks.
Brokers Improve Brand Awareness through Sports
“We were motivated to partner with Cardiff City FC due to our common vision and ethos – a passion for excellence and innovation. By partnering with a football club, we are also hopeful that our first sporting sponsorship will bring about unique experiences for our clients, partners and supporters around the world,” said Samtrade FX founder and CEO, Sam Goh.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Samtrade FX. The company has built up a proud reputation in its field across the world since being founded in 2015. We would like to thank them for choosing to partner with the Bluebirds and very much look forward to welcoming them to Cardiff City Stadium in the near future,” added Cardiff City FC CEO, Ken Choo.
Sports sponsorship has long been a way for businesses to extend their global reach. In recent months, there were also numerous sponsorship deals connected with lower-profile sports, including chess and e-sports.
These deals are also more standard sponsorship deals with more widely followed sports, such as football and rugby.
As previously analyzed by Finance Magnates, there is a direct correlation between the target markets of sports organizations and clubs, and FX and CFD brokers. The ROI achieved from such partnerships appear to induce a lucrative ROI for global brokers.
