BASE jumping, also sometimes written as B.A.S.E jumping, is an activity that employs an initially packed parachute to jump from fixed objects. "BASE" is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: buildings, antennas, spans (bridges), and earth (cliffs).
Saxo Bank loyal to its slogan of World Class Trading. Anytime, Anywhere just showcased this by executing a 1,000,000 EURUSD buy order at 1.26969 through its iPhone app by a BASE jumper in Cape Town, Africa. While this is one of the craziest stunts made it does an excellent job to demonstrate how far will Saxo go to prove its technology and that indeed you can trade with Saxo anywhere even if means in a free-fall in a huge canyon somewhere in Africa.
To me it's one of the best commercials for Forex I've ever seen.
As nicely put by the stunt's director Mike Lee "This app is a real breakthrough to Saxo's traders as it let's traders connect with the Saxo Trader platform basically anytime, anywhere. We never really imagine a place like this, but why the hell not?"
Forex brokers worldwide have always associated Forex Trading and risk sports such as Formula 1 racing, drifting, boxing and whatnot. While to some it may look like a stretch indeed for many forex traders it's an addiction and they are hooked to the adrenaline associated with highly leveraged trading on real money.
