Swissquote Launches TWINT App as a Payment Solution for Clients

Swissquote, one of the leading online financial trading services providers, announced today that the company has launched its own TWINT app as a payment solution to facilitate its clients. Through the use of the Swissquote TWINT app, clients of the company will be able to make easy and secure payments via smartphone.

With more than four million active users, TWINT is one of the most popular payment apps in Switzerland. According to the details shared by Swissquote, the app will be available for all eTrading account holders of the company. The Swissquote TWINT app will be available free of charge.

“Launching Swissquote TWINT is the next logical step towards our goal of becoming the first bank for our clients, also concerning the mobile payment. And, we are very happy to have TWINT as a strong partner,” said Marc Bürki, the CEO of Swissquote.

Swissquote has expanded its services significantly in the past few years. In 2021, the financial services provider witnessed record growth as operating revenues reached CHF 479.6 million, which is up 49% compared to 2020. In January 2022, the company became a structured product issuer on SIX.

The company’s clients with an eTrading account and a smartphone will be able to use the newly introduced app.

“To register, Swissquote clients need to download the Swissquote TWINT app via the App Store or Google Play Store. After activating the app, they will automatically be guided through the registration process. Transactions with TWINT are free of charge for all eTrading-account holders, be it for POS or peer-to-peer transactions,” the company added in the announcement.
