The Israeli broker, eToro has renewed its sponsorship of SK Slavia Prague, the oldest football club in the Czech Republic, for another season. The social trading and investment firm first emerged as the club’s sponsor in 2021 after sealing a multi-year agreement.

eToro Continues Investment in Football

eToro announced the continuation of the sponsorship deal with SK Slavia Prague today (Monday), noting that the move follows the club’s ‘impressive victory’ of the Czech Cup last season. With the extension, eToro remains the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor and will have its brand materials displayed on LED boards, social networks, fan forums and side pitch banners.

“Last season, SK Slavia Prague showcased their exceptional talent and determination, clinching the coveted Czech Cup title. eToro is thrilled to be associated with a team that consistently demonstrates excellence both on and off the field,” Shany Hahn Shalom, eToro’s Regional Manager for Northern and Central Eastern Europe, stated.

The new deal marks one of several sponsorship agreements that eToro has inked in Europe this year. Last week, the investment firm announced sponsorship deals with four UK football clubs, targeting FIFA Women's World Cup scheduled to start on July 20, 2023. The sponsored clubs are Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham.

In recent months, eToro entered new agreements with the Dutch football club, AZ Alkmaar, the Spanish basketball club, Baskonia, and the English professional rugby union league, Premiership Rugby.

Before the recent deals, eToro had already built its portfolio as a major sports sponsor in Europe. In 2020, the firm massively expanded its sports sponsorship, onboarding 12 football clubs from the UK and Germany. Now, it has nearly 20 teams from the English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Spanish Liga ACB and Rugby Australia, in its sponsorship list.

Speaking about the new deal with eToro, Martin Říha, the CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board at SK Slavia Prague, expressed his excitement about the mutual interest in continuing the sponsorship agreement.

“We at Slavia pride ourselves on long-term cooperation with our partners,” Říha stated. “The fact that both parties were eminently interested in the extension is a sign that the cooperation is clearly working and we hope that it will continue at least as successfully as before.”
