The Financial Commission has stopped EBC Financial Group's membership. The broker was removed from the private dispute-resolution scheme after “numerous failures” to comply with the established rules and guidelines.

The expulsion took effect on 31 August 2026, meaning that EBC Financial Group clients are no longer eligible for compensation under the Financial Commission’s Compensation Fund.

The fund is available only to clients of approved members and is subject to a decision by the organisation’s Dispute Resolution Committee.

What the Financial Commission Does

The Financial Commission is an industry-supported self-regulatory organisation and external dispute resolution body. The organisation serves as an independent forum for traders who cannot resolve complaints directly with member brokers.

Brokers can use the membership as an additional dispute-resolution and client-assurance tool, particularly in jurisdictions where statutory compensation arrangements may be limited or unavailable.

It was originally focused on forex disputes and later expanded into CFDs, related derivatives and cryptocurrency markets. The organisation also certifies certain trading technology providers.

EBC Operates through Several Entities

EBC Financial Group operates as a multi-entity FX and CFD brokerage brand. Its UK company, EBC Financial Group (UK) Ltd, is active on Companies House and is authorised by the FCA under reference number 927552.

EBC also lists regulated entities in Australia, the Cayman Islands and South Africa. That distinction matters for clients as protections are not interchangeable across the group.

A client’s legal position depends on the specific EBC entity with which they opened an account and the regulatory regime covering that entity. The expulsion from the Financial Commission does not, by itself, mean that EBC has lost a regulatory licence.

In July, Finance Magnates reported that EBC Financial Group (UK) Ltd alleged in annual filings that a former director had misappropriated funds from the company’s bank account.

EBC told Finance Magnates at the time that the matter related only to operational funds and that no client funds were involved or affected.
