The interest of forex and contracts for differences (CFDs) brokers in the sport of fighting has tremendously increased. FxPro, an established retail broker, recently inked a multi-year sponsorship deal with Aleksandr Chizov, a professional mixed martial artist from Latvia.

The broker did not furnish any details on the scope of the sponsorship deal. The financial terms of the deal are also unknown.

Fighting Is the New Favourite of Brokers

The popularity of the sport of fighting is growing fast, yet it targets niche followers. An average event of Ultimate Fighting Championship, the top mixed martial arts league, garners a viewership of 300,000 to over 2,000,000 viewers globally based on pay-per-view, the highest being 2.4 million.

The audience of mixed martial arts is also mostly male, which aligns with the demographic of retail traders.

Several other brokers have also inked high-profile with mixed martial arts athletes. Poland-headquartered XTB has onboarded popular UFC star Conor McGregor and Joanna Jędrzejczyk as its brand ambassadors.

FxPro's New Ambassador

Chizov is a popular face in regional mixed martial arts sports. He is a four-time Latvian champion and three-time Baltic champion, now competing in the PFL European Lightweight tournament.

"Aleksandr is an exceptional athlete who has achieved significant milestones at a young age. His continuous growth, dedication, and resilience align perfectly with FxPro's values," said Ilya Holeu, the Chief Product Owner & CMO at FxPro. "We are proud to support Aleksandr's journey as he represents not only his country but all those who dare to aim high and push their limits like a real Pro."

Though officially not highlighted, the latest partnership might be an indication of FxPro's goals in the Baltic region of Europe.

FxPro is also known for its high-end sponsorship deals. It is known to be one of the first brokers to close a sports deal in 2009 by sponsoring the Virgin Racing team, which does not exist anymore. The broker now has an active sponsorship deal with the McLaren F1 racing team.
