Horizon Software, an algorithmic and electronic trading technology solution provider, announced on Tuesday its new connectivity to the Singapore Exchange (SGX Group), which came within six months of its office that were launched in Singapore.

Horizon Software Announced SGX Connectivity

The direct connection to the SGX Group will allow Horizon clients to access and trade on multiple financial markets and make a market on exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Further, they can hedge faster and more efficiently.

"We are delighted to be working closely with SGX Group in Singapore and ASEAN region," said Horizon Software's Head of APAC Sales, Emmanuel Faure. "Our aim is to promote our trading platform for securities products and derivatives, to allow the community to trade and market-make new instruments throughout Asia, extending our market coverage and connectivity in response to our client's requirements."

The company is open to further collaboration with the SGX Group for future regional growth. Though Horizon just announced its connectivity to the SGX Group, its first client went live on SGX Securities Trading in November 2022.

"To meet the diverse requirements and sophisticated trading strategies of global market participants today, we are constantly working with the right partners to deliver growth. We are delighted to welcome Horizon Software to provide market participants with access to our SGX Securities and Derivatives Trading," said Pol De Win, the Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Sales and Origination at SGX Group.

A Major Trading Technology Provider

Horizon has been providing algorithmic and electronic trading solutions for more than two decades, currently having access to more than 80 exchanges. Earlier, the company partnered with the brokerage arm of Santander Bank Polska, which became the first introducing market maker for the Warsaw Stock Exchange' Global Connect' equity market.

Meanwhile, Horizon has been expanding its offerings as well. Earlier this year, it updated its cross-asset electronic platform Horizon Extend and now plans to expand its Trading-as-a-Service (TasS) offering.

The company's ambitions to capture the Southeast Asian markets became prominent with its Singapore office launch last September. The office's location was strategic, aiming to bolster the company's sales in the Asia Pacific region.

Furthermore, Horizon has a presence in France, Canada, Hong Kong, China, and Thailand. The company moved its ASEAN Sales Manager, Michael Lim, from the Bangkok office to Singapore to strengthen the position of the new office.
