ChartIQ Rebrands Retail App to Separate B2B and Consumer Facing Business

Creators of HTML5 based charting and technical analysis technology, ChartIQ, are undergoing a corporate facelift of sorts as they rebrand their retail facing charting app. Founded in 2012, the firm entered the trading market with its iOS-based charting app. The product found a niche among professional traders who were able to use the app on the go to monitor moves in the market and conduct technical analysis on the go.

Since then, the firm also began to license its charting and technical analysis library to business customers (B2B) such as Trading Platform providers, brokers and websites. Due to the growth of the B2B business, that segment now composes the lion’s share of ChartIQ’s revenues, with licensing their services being their current main focus.

With the importance of their licensing business, ChartIQ has rebranded their retail charting app as Technician, to better separate their B2B and B2C brand. For consumer users, the main change to the mobile and web-based app is that it is being made available for free, thereby removing previous subscription fees for the technical analysis and charting product. The overall app remains the same other than feature updates that have been added to the latest release. Currently available as a free solution on the web and iOS devices, the Android version is expected to be released soon.
